The Recon 1 is one of Cold Steel's most popular tactical folding knives. That's why we decided to bring back the smaller series of Mini Recons, which are now also at a very affordable price. This is a classic EDC, an everyday carry knife that won't draw unnecessary negative attention from those around you due to its size and weight. The 3 mm thick blade is made of AUS 10A steel. This martensitic, stainless steel has very good strength properties and is mainly used as a material for cutting tools. Compared to AUS 8A, it holds the edge better and is more resistant to abrasion. The steel has then been heat treated for the perfect balance between edge holding and easy re-sharpening. The Stonewashing finish prevents easy scratching and makes the knife more resistant to corrosion. The handle, with its distinctive raster pattern, is made by high-pressure injection moulding from Griv-Ex™, a material that is strong enough on its own. The surface structure of the handle prevents the knife from accidentally slipping out when working in wet environments. The knife is fitted with a double-sided opening pin and this knife range also features the unique Cold Steel® Tri-Ad Lock™ patent. The lock prevents the knife from self or inadvertently closing even after natural wear over time. You will also receive a clip in the package for carrying on the left side.
