The yarn making process for this shirt is slightly different, starting with the same strands of cotton which are continuously twisted and thinned to create a very fine rope of cotton fibers.

The twisting makes the short hairs of cotton stand out, creating a much stronger yarn with a noticeably softer feel. The more fibres are twisted, the stronger and softer the yarn.

Advantages of ring spun over a regular cotton t-shirt: a 200Gsm regular cotton t-shirt may be heavier than 165Gsm ring spun cotton, but a Ring spun cotton t-shirt can be more durable and definitely much softer.
