Double Safe Hunter was designed by knifemaker Andrew Demko, taking into account the fact that working knives are heavily stressed and are often lost. You often need to use such a knife in aggressive environments that can damage the blade. The blade must therefore be made of a tougher material and be well sharpened. Taking these considerations into account, Cold Steel decided to create a reliable but very affordable working closer. This hunting knife is suitable for working with both fish and smaller animals such as rabbit. However, when testing the knife, there was no problem even when butchering elk. The wide blade of the knife is made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, which after heat treatment shows a hardness of 57-58 Rockwell. Thanks to the shape of the blade belly, the knife cuts very well. The handle of the knife is made of fiberglass nylon with GFN marking. It has a deep texture to keep the knife from slipping even in wet or muddy hands. The knife is equipped with two locking latches for added safety. The blade is secured by a linerlock safety against spontaneous closing, as well as a secondary safety mechanism that is extremely impact resistant when engaged.
