Cold Steel SR1 (S35VN)

The SR1 from COLD STEEL is a smooth-bladed closing knife. The SR1 is a heavy duty work knife designed for use in the harshest conditions. The SR1 is a truly rugged closing knife that can handle the toughest jobs. Its highly durable Clip-point blade is made from 4.8mm thick American CPM-S35VN powder coated steel. A good blade needs a good handle, so the SR1's handle is made from premium American G-10 with heat-treated steel inserts. The knife is thus designed to be used in very extreme situations. The blade of the knife is made of CPM-S5VN steel. This exceptional American steel is not only very tough and durable, but it can achieve excellent knife sharpness and the blade is then long lasting. The very fine-grained powder steel with a uniform microstructure offers very stable properties. It is durable even with a very fine blade facet, reliable, highly corrosion-resistant. It is a good choice for high quality custom knives and tools. The CPM (pseudo-powder metallurgy) process guarantees a very homogeneous, high quality steel structure, dimensional stability, good grindability and strength compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Despite the lower chromium content, this steel shows very good results in terms of corrosion resistance. The G-10 handle has a fine texture on its surface, roughened for a better and more secure grip. The texture and pronounced shaping ensures that the knife will not slip out of your hand in any situation, even if your hands are wet, sweaty, or dirty, allowing you to exert sufficient force to make the cut. This knife features a lock with the unique patented Cold Steel® Tri-Ad Lock™. The lock prevents the knife from closing on its own or unintentionally, even after natural wear over time.
