The Deramax-Aves is intended for use as a bird scarer (repeller). It generates specific sub-ultrasonic signals that are very unpleasant for birds, so that after a short time they leave the protected area and seek a new refuge outside the area protected by the scarecrow. In our conditions, the device is mainly useful as a scarecrow for pigeons, starlings, sparrows, blackbirds, blackbirds, ravens, crows, woodpeckers, starlings, etc. The operation of the device is completely ecological, without the use of chemical means.
Pulse operation of the battery scarecrow: One of the main advantages of the Deramax-Aves battery scarecrow is the optimized pulse operation, which allows to generate ultrasonic signals with a very high sound pressure level, with minimum energy consumption. The optimized pulsed operation of the scarecrow and thus the pulsed power consumption of the battery means several times higher efficiency of battery capacity utilization compared to conventional types of battery scarecrows. And this means a several-fold increase in battery life.
Resonant amplification of the ultrasonic signal:
The Deramax-Aves scarecrow uses resonant signal amplification, which is important for achieving the highest possible performance, with the lowest possible power consumption. We calibrate the frequencies generated by the scarecrow's electronic circuits with the resonant frequencies of the piezo transducers (ultrasonic "emitters") used within each production run.
The Deramax-Aves is a battery powered scarecrow using a standard 9 V battery. A 9 V lithium battery will keep the unit running for 12 months. A 9 V alkaline battery will keep the scarecrow running for 6 months.

Deramax-Aves scarecrow safety:
The scarecrow generates a signal in the sub-ultrasonic region (high-frequency noise region). In terms of its impact on humans, the Deramax-Aves does not disturb its surroundings with annoying noise and meets the legal limits set for the maximum level of both high-frequency noise and ultrasound. Impact on domestic and farm animals: This scarecrow (repeller) also has a negative impact on domestic cats and dogs within its effective range. However, there is no need to deal with any special measures on the part of domestic animals. It is quite sufficient if the pet is allowed to leave the area protected by the device freely. Thus, the repeller will not harm your pet, only the animal will avoid the area. However, always ensure that the pet has the opportunity to leave the protected area and never use this type of scarecrow against an animal confined in a pen, etc.
The device does not need to be adjusted in any way, it operates fully automatically. Just insert the battery and turn on the built-in switch.
Scarecrow placement:
A common solution for the placement of the scarecrow and usually the most practical solution, especially when used indoors, is to place it on the ground in one of the corners of the protected area, with the front of the scarecrow directed towards the centre of the protected area. However, it is also possible to fix the scarecrow with screws or double-sided adhesive tape to a fence, wall, post, window, door, etc., which is most suitable for outdoor use. Also in this case, we recommend directing the front of the scarecrow to the centre of the protected area.
Efficiency range of the Deramax-Aves scarecrow:
The maximum effective distance in front of the scarecrow is up to 14 metres. The effective area range in square metres is up to 120 m2. The effective angle of attack is 90 degrees. The scarecrow thus has a high power output and the special design of the device ensures that a wide effective angle of 90 degrees is achieved, while even at the limit of the declared angle of attack (i.
e. outside the main direction of the signal) the scarecrow still generates at least 83 % of the declared sound pressure level. Of course, the ultrasonic signal also propagates beyond the stated 90 degree angle of incidence, but the efficiency is less and therefore, for the sake of objectivity, we give an effective angle of incidence of "only" 90 degrees.
Number of scarecrows in one area:
Any number of ultrasonic scarecrows can be placed in one location and their signals are not adversely affected in any way. On the contrary, it is common to use more scarecrows to protect especially larger or more rugged areas, because a larger number of scarecrows (repellers) installed in one location means a significantly higher penetration of the protected area by the ultrasonic signal and increases the overall effectiveness.
