BLADE
The blade is made of American S35VN steel. This exceptional American steel is not only very tough and durable, but it can achieve excellent knife sharpness and the blade has a long durability. The very fine grained powder steel with a uniform microstructure offers very stable properties. It is durable even with a very fine blade facet, reliable, highly corrosion-resistant. It is a good choice for high quality custom knives and tools. The CPM (pseudo-powder metallurgy) process guarantees a very homogeneous, high quality steel structure, dimensional stability, good grindability and strength compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Despite the lower chromium content, this steel shows very good results in terms of corrosion resistance.
TiNi Finish
TiNi finish stands for Titanium Nitride. It is an insanely hard ceramic material that is applied to steel by a plasma blasting process. This method is considered the best finish for blade steel. Usually black is used, but it is not a requirement. It is often stated that a blade treated in this way has a longer life and the TiNi protects it from corrosion. This coating actually helps the blade hold its edge and be smoother and more slippery when cutting. A huge advantage of the TiNi finish is that it is by far the most resistant to scratching and chipping. This type of finish is commonly found on tactical, military or survival knives because it improves the surface properties of the blade.
